Learn about the methods that hackers use to compromise computer systems so you can protect yourself and others.
There are two types of hackers: Black hats and White hats. Black hats are cyber criminals who break into computer systems for financial gain. White hacks are the good guys, the hackers who use their knowledge to make sure computer systems are secure.
In this course we’re going to learn about security and the different methods used by hackers. This will give us the knowledge and skills to protect ourselves better on the internet.
Linux is the operating system of choice for most hackers and a lot of tech professionals. We’re going to install it on our machines and learn the basics of Linux and the terminal. A great thing about Linux is that it’s like an open playground. Which in a case of an Operating System means that with enough of determination you can make an OS of your own.
Here’s a “fun” fact for you: whenever you’re connected to a public wi-fi (like the one at your favourite coffee shop), your device instantly becomes a target of a Black hat hacker. He can easily reach into you digital pocket and take out almost anything. Anything you’re typing that is. So all those private massages, your credit card info, your usernames or passwords.
We’ll be learning about that and much more. We’ll talk about different threats and dangers in a network. And we’re going to discuss passwords, trojans, backdoors, viruses, worms and DDoS attacks.
We'll be using the popular programming language Python in this course. We'll use Python to write our own small projects.
“With great power comes great responsibility” is what Uncle Ben told Peter Parker. That is especially true in this case. We are going to make a promise to ourselves and the restof the class that we will only use our knowledge of hacking for good. We’ll also discuss how you can make a career out of hacking which is completely legal.
I started building my own games and websites when I was 10 years old and sold my first website at 14 years old.
I have a passion for education and learning and I spend my days working on how to make it easy, fun and engaging to learn new things.
I have taught hundreds of kids how to build their own games and websites.
My greatest interests are education and learning and I spend a major part of my time coming up with new and exciting ways for students to acquire knowledge and understand things deeply.
Many a child, and teenagers alike, have been educated in the craft of game development under the reign of my might!
"One thing I REEAALLYYYYY enjoy is that I can now try to code on my own, the teachers were VEEEEEEERYYYYY clear. I think I now may make my Videogame Of Dreams!"
"I've only been to a few programming courses before this one and they were all mediocre, but this one was well planned, had good teachers and was a very positive experience."
